Everyone asks why “M&E?” The M is obviously for Mateu and the E is for Eddie, my business partner for five years. Eddie is no longer with us, but in honor of his memory and his unconditional support in the business we started together, I left the E in the name. I inherited my interest in photography from my father, who had a very prosperous photography business in Cuba.

Here, in the United States, I opened up the business with my father in 1991, and continued it with Eddie after my father retired. I studied photography in Cuba and have taken various photography courses. Moreover, I have had the honor to continue photographing important events for families that my father photographed in Cuba.

I like and enjoy what I do, while at the same time, try as much as possible to please my customers and make them feel comfortable. My goal is that my customers enjoy their cherished events. Simple, sometimes playful, and professional, that is Mateu.
